Laloopsy, You probably know that they sort of "inflate" you with gas to make room inside whilst they perform the surgery.  My anaesthetist explained that afterwards they remove the gas but a little can get trapped under your diaphragm.  The shoulder tip pain is actually referred pain from the trapped gas but not everyone gets it - I didn't.

I may be ignorant but what's shoulder tip pain? Yep, had 3 Caesars and made sure in the 3rd that I got up that afternoon and Had a shower and walked about the room - helped massively (esp with wind!) so pleased to hear you are feeling alright- been nauseous?

I had to supply certified copies of my POI so that's probably why the delay.

I had my procedure on Thursday.  I got home today.  I'm feeling really well, just sorting out how much I can have and when.  My biggest tip is walk, walk, walk after the op for the shoulder tip pain (oh and use heat bags).  The should tip pain was worse than the incision sites.

Laloopsy mine took about 5 weeks from the date I emailed it to the date it was approved.  My super fund then took another 2 weeks.

They gave me everything I asked for before the Medicare rebate and PHI.    The reason for that is you are required to pay in full then after the procedure you're given a tax invoice to give to Medicare and your PHI.  Good luck but you wont need it I'm sure.

I hope Im next in line! Mines almost at the 4 weeks mark and still waiting, waiting. Luckily my surgeon wrote me a letter on Friday to get it looked at urgently and they confirmed I should have an answer by Wed morning. - Fingers crossed!

Do they give you everything you asked for, or what you were quoted minus medicare refunds?

My super was released today!!  Yay, I'm really excited.  They included amount I didn't claim for as I intended to pay myself (gap for Anaesthatist of $500.00).  I'm happy with that.  17 days til op day.  Woohoo!!
