| Welcome Warren Hopefully things will go smoother for you, I haven't looked back since having my op 7 months ago, I still have to watch my diet and exercise but the pain in my joints has really settled and I rarely if ever get pain. I am off my diabetes, blood pressure and cholesterol tablets which makes a big difference to the quality of my life. Opti doesn't taste to bad if you have it really really cold or have the chocolate as a hot chocolate. Good luck with your weight lose journey Nita | |

| Hi All My name is Warren. I'm to have the sleeve op within a year on the public waiting list. My upper Gastroenterologist put me on the urgent list. I'm 144kg and 167cm Its taken a while to get to this stage, as before i could see a anaesthesiologist. I had to see a sleep disorder specialist . And someone forgot to put me on the waiting list lol Once i was on that list , things started to move a little . I had the first sleep apnoea test and was found to stop breathing every minuet . Had the second test, with a mask . And was found to work, with a humidifier But thats where things stopped as my dr, a professor went on long service leave. And apparently, everything stops when he's on holidays, yer right . So i see him on April 9th 2014 for my mask and its settings I had to give up work 8 years ago, and cash in my super. As my wife after 8 cancelations had 2 open heart surgeries in 3 days to replace 2 of her heart valves with mechanical ones. And of course needed me as her carer. After 2 years the Dr gave the go ahead for her to travel extensively. And we traveled for the next 6 years around Australia. finishing in Adelaide each xmas/summer. For time with our children and grand children. And all our specialist appointments over summer . Then with my wife deteriorating a little. My 3 arthritis's , and being diagnosed with Type 2. It was time to sell the van and 4x4 and move into a disabilities unit. Which we have been in 12 months this April. Don't like paying electricity or rent again thats for sure lol 2 months ago i started on Optifast (hate the taste of their shakes). But added some no calorie choc powder, i was told about by the diatitian Have the name around here somewhere if anyone is interested. And having 2 shakes and one main meal a day plus snacks. And 3-4 visits to the gym, for an hour a day. I lost 8kg in just 4 weeks. Then my arthritis deteriorated, and didn't move out of the unit (except for dr's appointments for nearly 3 weeks. And of course. With nothing to do, as would happen i went off the diet a little. And as everyone knows . there's no going off a diet a little. And put most of it back on again. But now i have joined this forum . have read some inspiring posts. From some very brave people. I'm starting again tomorrow. First thing the gym, slowly at first. Long intro i know. But now its the end of my intro , lol Warren | |
