| Hi Bridget,
I was done by Dr Brancatisano at Baulkham Hill Private. He is also a top notch surgeon, i wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone.
Which area do you live in? Maybe we can help you find someone a little closer to home.. |

| Hi I was sleeved on the 15 April. And I went to Dr Durmush in Liverpool. He was very good and came into hospital to see me everyday. He really takes very good care of his patients and is strict with the nursing staff that look after you. He makes sure that you are being taken care of. I am very pleased that I chose him. All you need is a referral from your GP and then you make an appointment and go in and see him. He also holds seminars. level 4, 171 Bigge St, Liverpool 02 9826 4111 www.lifeweightloss.com.au Good Luck

- Hi Bridget
I called last Monday and got an appointment on Friday (4 days later). My only suggestion would be to ask when they have an information night because when I got there the receptionist told me that normally they request you attend an information night before seeing the doctor.
Dr Loi never mentioned it but I did tell that I have done a lot of research over the past 18 months.
Dr. Ken Loi - 02 9587 8813 Suite 1, Level 5, St. George Private Hospital, 1 South Street KOGARAH,
Dr. John Jorgensen - 02 9554 7288

I have just started my Sleeve journey and I have chosen Dr Loi as a friend was sleeved by him. Based at St George Private I had my first appointment on Friday and he is such a lovely man. Befor ethe appointment I was getting nervous, not about teh surgery but talking about being overweight. He put me at ease immediately.
As Gail said he partners with Dr J who also has an excellent reputation.
Let us know who you decide to go with.

| Hi Bridget,
Welcome to the forum. I am from Perth, so can't really help with surgeons, but wanted to lend my support to you in your decision process. Read up all you can on this site. Can I suggest you also join a lap-band support site so that you can compare the experiences of both groups, both positive and negative? Good luck in your decision making and be assured that we will still talk to you whatever you decide.

| Hi Bridget, welcome to the boards and congratulations on making your decision to go on this journey.
I'm in Sydney and my surgeon was Dr John Jorgensen based at St George Private, who I think is great. He was originally my banding surgeon, but when that failed I went on to be sleeved by him as well. He works in partnership with Dr Ken Loi and I think both of them are great (Dr Loi removed my access port from my old lapband). Another top notch surgeon is Dr Talbot also at St George.
There are also some good surgeons based on the northside as well. I know Caz used Dr Garett Smith at Royal North Shore Hospital.
Before you can make an appointment to see Dr J you will need to attend one of his info sessions.
Good luck in deciding which Dr to see.
Cheers Gail | |

| Hi
I have been struggling with losing weight and have decided that i need to have surgery to help with my weight loss. I looked at getting the band, but since reading about sleeve surgery i am wondering if its best to go with this option. I am wanting help here and with looking for a highly regarded surgeon in Sydney as well
