| Now back in NZ, and I have read on the IRD website that there are ways to access funds for serious illness ie www.kiwisaver.govt.nz/already/get-money/early/illness/ Do you know if anyone in NZ has been successful in accessing their kiwisaver for this?. Serious illnessYou may be able to withdraw your KiwiSaver savings early in case of serious or terminal illness, or permanent disability affecting your ability to work.How much you can withdraw for serious illness | You can withdraw the total funds in your account, including the current value of:
- your contributions
- your employer's contributions
- the $1,000 kick-start
- any member tax credits.
