Dr George Hopkins? Anyone been sleeved by him

Hi guys!  I was sleeved by George on Friday last week.  I work at another hospital with other specialists and they all recommended him as being an excellent surgeon.

And what seems to go with the territory is arrogance, a lack of compassion and disinterest in how I was coping.  That said, I was sleeved on a Friday at the Holy Spirit Northside and the anaesthetist I had was amazing.  He really made me feel better going into the surgery because I was crying and terrified.  George just lectured me on my behaviour after the surgery.

My incisions are clean as a whistle though, so he did an excellent job.  And since we pay them to be good cutters, not cuddlers, I'm pretty happy.

I was sleeved by George on Wednesday last week and he is terrific.

He is clearly a busy man but I found him to be excellent.

Couldn't recommend him more highly.

I am having my sleeve done by George this Wednesday morning so will soon be able to post some of the info you are after. (Talk about butterflies!) I have heard though that George is very good and hardly leaves any bruising after the op so that's gotta be a big Plus.

I am booked in for the 11th of June with George as well, was wanting to know the pain levels as well.

I am booked in to have my surgery at the end of June.  I am so scared and worried about complications but I know I need to have the surgery.  Could anyone give me any feedback on the surgeries as in pain level and how long to recover?  Has anyone had any complication?  Thanks heaps

Heya! I was sleeved by George in early Oct at Holy Spirit! It was one of the best things I have ever done. He has a great team and my dietitian is lovely. I have a bit of reflux but it's a small price to pay I tell you. Starting weight was 122kg height 175cm Oct 2013 - 88.9kG Jan 6th 2014. Best investment I have ever made!

I had my sleeve done with George Hopkins on the 5th august great surgeon and as already said he goes 1oo miles an hour answered all my questions and have had a good run so far would recommend to anyone thinking of having sleeve done I had operation at Holy Spirit Hospital

Hi Mandy,

I think George would be the only one who can advise whether he will sleeve you, it depends on your history and health as well as your weight/BMI.  I am scheduled to be sleeved by George in a little over a week and have found him to b e very good so far.  He is very quick and direct so if you have questions be prepared with a list and don't be afraid to speak up because he doesn't stop running!

Hi I'm new I'm booked to see dr Hopkins in oct and have a tentative surgery date for dec 2013.  I'm just wondering if anyone else has used dr Hopkins also I'm 165cm and 95+kgs.  I'm hoping I can get the surgery has anyone else around my weight got the sleeve?
