Medibank Private to HCF Empty
PostSubject: Medibank Private to HCF   Medibank Private to HCF EmptySat 24 Aug 2013, 8:05 am

I got on iSelect last night because I think MP is a little expensive.  In the search they never come up.  They rang me today and said I could save 80.00 per month if I changed.

I have been with MP for over 10 years.  iSlect that HCF was the highest with less gap in 97% of claims last year.  I checked to make sure I was covered. He recommended  Top Plus cover with an excess or Co.-Payment of 0  I dropped extras because the only thing I claim is glasses.  Gave dentist's up in Australia a long time ago and never use them.  I can go to my dentist overseas have a holiday get all the dental work and still come out on top big time.

So is anyone with HCF and could tell me their experience.

Many thanks

Tina

Tina,

OOH where do you go to get your dental work done ??

I've been toying with the idea of OS dental work for ages.

Thanks
Tara

Tara,

I go to Bali..  My husband is Indonesian but not Balinese he lived in Balinfor 5 years.  He had a good Aussie friend who also lived in Bali and I had gone to some dentists over there when we had a bike accident and my husband needed a crown.  Needless to say it did not last 6 months. On our next visit his friend took us to his dentist and I slowly started using him.  The clincher was when I was told by my aussiebdentist that a tooth was going to cost me 3000.00 to save. I went to him and 400.00 later the tooth was saved. He saved that and crowned 3 of my teeth all up 1600.00. Checked with my Aussie dentists and the said allso fine.

Then between visits I had a tooth ache and  couldn't stand it.  To make along story short and 4500.00 later they said all fixed andbyoubcan get it crowned in Bali .  Went to Bali in April to get 8 crowns the tooth being one of them and my bali dentist said there is still an infection in that tooth. So he didn't crown and said we will look at that one the next visit. 7 crowns and a bridge 4 fillings and two teeth cleaning 3500.00.

Just got back and he found a 3 rd canal that the Aussie dentist missed and cleaned the two canals that the Aussie dentist didn't fully empty. So root canal and two fillings 300.00. He is so gentle and has a lot more up to date equipment then Aussie dentist except maybe specialists because I haven't been to one.

Every time I go he checks his work.  I have spent half my life in dentists and he is far the best I have ever been to.

Our next trip two friends are coming to get work done.  If you decide to give it a go drop me a pm and I will give u his contact details.
Regards

Tina
