| The need for a stretch is far more common with a bypass than sleeve so prepare for a couple just in case. If you have any other questions or thoughts at any time please feel free to pm me. Good luck on weds! You'll be fine...xxx | |

| Oh Suzy you really have been through a lot. Yes it did scare me a bit when I read that, but thanks for tell me. Makes me feel a little less scared that it is somewhat normal. I was only bypassed 5 weeks ago, and after all the trouble I had with the band and don't want to have the same kind of run with this. I will think positive and it will be all good. Thanks so much xxx | |

| I had the sleeve last October but it was a disaster so I had to have the bypass in January. Don't worry I've not had 14 stretches!! I've had 4. The rest were for other things....checking stuff out, inserting/taking out a stent, feeding tubes etc! Sorry didn't mean to scare you about the stretches! Most I've known someone to have is 6 and that is exceptionally rare..... | |

| Becky I'm so glad you called your doctor. Please try not to worry about the stretch. Have you had an endoscopy before? I was very distressed when I needed them but they really are very minor, you dont feel a thing and the relief afterwards is instant! I've had 2 endoscopies in the past 3 days, another due on Monday racking up my total to 14 since last October.
In the meantime stick to soups etc and do the best you can to stay hydrated and nourished. Ill be thinking of you.

| So I ended up having to call my doctor, couldnt eat tea again for the third night, looks like I am going to need a stretch on Wednesday. Not sure how I feel about that, but tonight I couldn't even have mashed potato so I know that it need to be done. I can't keep vomitting and not eating solid food. | |

| Oh Becky, that is great news. Sounds like you have eaten very well so highly unlikely you need a stretch. The eating/drinking too close together can definitely cause the nausea so that's a good idea. Sorry about my urgency before but I've seen a few people lately struggle and you don't have to! I know what its like to not want to pester your dr or make a mountain out of a molehill but if you dont have to suffer then you shouldnt. So please let me know how you go with your dr. Hopefully it settles more over the weekend...

| Nausea is a pain at the best of times. I hope you get it under control and won't have to put up with it for too much longer. :) | |

Please talk to your dr Xxx Hi Suzy, I will be talking to him on Monday I think. Since putting up my post I have been able to eat two cruskets with ham spread and a thick slice of cheese. I am wondering if I was maybe eating to soon after drinking. I know that the opening below my tiny yummy is very small so it takes a while for it to empty, the cruskets and cheese went down fine as has my coffee and tea, so I am hoping that I dont need a stretch, which is something that I have talked about with my doctor. I am going to try and eat some masked potatoes and veggies for tea and see how that goes. xx | |

| If it is the case of a stretch being need it happens at about the 3 to 6 week mark and comes on quite suddenly so it is possible but please please do not worry. It's a very quick and painless fix as you would be sedated if it is that. It's quite common and not to worry you but you may need it more than once. I hope it's all sorted out soon for you and will be thinking of you xx | |

| Hey miss violet, make sure you mention this to your surgeon. I suffered debilitating nausea which ended up being diagnosed a very serious issue, it could also mean you need a stretch or something very minor like that but do check with your doc just in case.let us know how you go Xxx | |

| I get this too..bad nausea after eating and at random times of day. I'm on nexium also. I don't think its the nexium though. My tum also feels like its always full of air. I'm really hoping it settles down and goes back to feeling like a normal tum. Sorry I've not been much help but just letting you know you're not alone.\
