| Thanks everyone, it's reassuring!
I posted in another part that my husband and family are now not as supportive as at first. They seem to have a problem with the 'permanency" of the op.... that's kind of why I chose it over other options like the balloon or the endobarrier.
80-over, did you have any problem with accessing your super- did it take long (my surgery is booked in 4 weeks) and do you have to prove anything in terms of your finance ie do you have to be in strong financial need as such :)
Thanks again. | |

| Hi Andrea
I am another one of Justin's girls.
I was sleeved on 25th June. Had 3 nights in hospital and then home. I loved the hospital staff they were so lovely and Dr Greenslade visits every morning.
I accessed my super and he just wrote a letter but you also need a letter from your GP also.
Good luck xo | |

| Hi Andrea1974, Welcome!!! I had Justin Greenslade - my surgery was the 24th July. My brother also had Justin (November 2012) When I was in hospital there were another 6 of his patients all around me. The man knows his stuff that's for sure. As for Brenda she has been a great support through this. Any questions however small Brenda is never too busy to answer them....and the best thing of all she knows what she's talking about because she's had the sleeve done herself. I love Brenda...she's and angel.
My costs for Justin were: $4000 - Justin's costs $1200 - anaesthetist -Dr Marcus Soo - River City Anaesthesia (he was awesome) but this cost will vary depending on what day you have the surgery as Justin also uses Greenslopes Anaesthesia depending on what day the surgery is.
Out of all of these above expenses I got back $1350.00....so that's pretty good in order to change the rest of your life.
Hope all of this helps you. Any questions please ask away...we are all here to help.

| Hiya Andrea,
Welcome to the forum.
There are quite a few of Justin's girls here.
He has done 4 of my surgeries and I cannot speak highly enough of him or his office manager Brenda. Gotta love the Greenslade !!
*2 or 3 nights in Hospital. *2 weeks to be fully up and really normal but pretty right after 2 days . *Not sure about your out of pocket - Brenda will know, but less than $5000 I reckon. *Yep Justin will write a letter supporting you accessing your Super. *I dunno about the BMI of 33 but if you have "co morbidities" such as Diabetes, heart disease, Cpap machine anything really it will help especially if your GP supports this.
All the best, speak soon . TARA

| Hi,
Just starting out, loving reading all of the inspirational stories :)
I have a BMI of 33 and I've just had enough. I'm exhausted after 10 years of up and down weight. It consumes so much of my day and has sucked the life out of me. It depresses me, I have no energy, I have a family history of obesity and my mum dies of breast cancer at the age of 39.
I'm just starting out on researching the sleeve. Looking at Dr Justin at Greenslopes. Anybody have any reviews? Would I be considered eligible for a sleeve at BMI of 33? How long is the stay in hospital? (we have 3 kids :)) Out of pocket expense? We have Bupa top level insurance. How long after were you up and around as normal? Were you able to gain access to your super to use, did Dr Justin write a letter of support? x
