| I hope it stops for you. I was having it up to 6 times a day. I still have it now and its 12 months since my op. Its called dumping. I am sort of used to it now. Was really worried about it at first. I still have it most days but if I'm lucky I miss a day lol. I suppose its better than being constipated. | |

| Rainclouds, was thinking of you this morning re this and recalled a number of posts I had read where people have mentioned being lactose intolerant after the surgery...initially some stayed some not. Also, those banded prior to sleeve or hiatus hernia repaired at the same time can experience this - read it in info somewhere to. I suppose you could cross these of in the mean time while waiting to call and check with your team. Even if you find the answer I'd still check. Good luck. | |

| i had diarrhoea the whole of the 2 weeks fluids stage, now that i am at the end of 4 weeks pureed i very rarely get it, i think some of it is that basically what is going in is what is coming out, so to speak | |

| OMG yes.
I had it on and off for a while- maybe 2 or 3 weeks if i can remember correctly. I asked my surgeon about it (as it was horrible) and he said that you do have some residual blood in your tummy from the surgery which acts as a laxative.
Helped that early stage weightloss i must say. | |

| Hi Rainbowclouds glad to hear your ok. I had the same, almost explosive with small amount runny fluid on and off for almost 3 days but then turned to just wind +++. I know TMI but you asked! You were the day before me so maybe you are just releasing a little slower.... Mine was normal considering the barium/gastrographin swallow plus my surgeon does the pressure test of the stomach to test for leaks so that gas all has to come out. It is different to the general run off the mill you get with regular diarrhoea. And opti does have fibre as well and you had that pre op didn't you? Boy did that stuff create some wind! If it persists then you need to talk to your team be it Dr or nr or GP but the specialist Nr would know and be able to give you and educated/experienced answer...... I know always happens on Friday afternoons or weekends. You know re hydration so I wont go on. If you look at the Mayflowers they, particularly Kegs LOL, you'll see a discussion on the subject :-) Also check out diaries for the more recent that might give you more info if you haven't already. Hope this helps | |

| It is not unusual to experience diarrhoea post op, and apparently it is more common if you also had a hiatus hernia repair. Just make sure you are not getting dehydrated and if you are take yourself off to the doctor or hospital. | |

| For two to three days after the surgery. Nurses told me that it is the barium swallow that causes it. I called it thunder, it shot out so quickly | |
