Diarrhoea Empty
PostSubject: Re: Diarrhoea    Diarrhoea EmptyThu 23 May 2013, 3:56 am

Emailed dietician she said it sounds like I am experiencing a sort of dumping syndrome so have to try and cut out sugary food like jelly undiluted juice custard etc and to lie down for 30 minutes post meal so the fluid and water stays in my stomach longer before being drawn into my intestine all worth a try I suppose gonna be a boring couple of weeks hehe

I was exactly like you I spent most of my first few weeks running to the toilet - one way to increase exercise I guess!
The dietician said it is quite common and is often caused by a temporary lactose intolerance. Try reducing/stopping dairy & see if that helps.
But I'd advise speaking to your dietician or Dr, you don't want to risk becoming dehydrated.

Diarrhoea Empty
PostSubject: Diarrhoea    Diarrhoea EmptyWed 22 May 2013, 11:50 pm

I was sleeved last Thursday morning so 7 days post op and everytime I eat something I have to run to the toilet. My diet is fairly normal I suppose.

-strained chicken and vege soup
-jelly
-yogurt
-protein shakes etc

I am very sensitive to sugar free stuff can't eat sugar free gum, lollies etc or i get diarrhoea, like 2 of those Jols lollies and I am done. Do you think this could be the cause? Anyone else experienced this? I am actually to the point now where I don't want to eat at all. Which is i know no good for anyone.
