| Hi James,
Welcome to the site.
There's quite a few ex-bandits on here that have had their band removed and the sleeve done, or are in the process of having it done.
We have a section specifically for ex-bandits too, some great info in there for you.
Nobody here can tell you what decision to make, or which surgeon to go through.. But there are lots of people with similar stories that have come out the other side and started losing again, with great success.
Have a read through, find a surgeon you feel comfortable with again (also a section in here for surgeons), and good luck.

| Hi everyone, I've been meaning to find a site like this since my lapband failed but have been putting it off and piling on weight and hoping it would just sort itself out...so, finally, here I am and I'm determined to educate myself before I go back to a Doctor. Just a quick history-I had the lapband fitted about 4 or 5 years ago by Kevin Dolan and initially had great success and lost about 20 kgs but then couldn't lose anymore and Dr Dolan worked out that my port had come unattached from where it was originally placed so I had surgery to fix that. However after that I didn't lose anymore weight and actually started putting it back on. We moved out of the area and I just stopped going to the doctor probably because I felt like a failure and now I'm the heaviest I've EVER been :( I want to see if my band is still working, why I didn't keep losing weight or what my alternatives are but I don't want to go back to Dr Dolan. Don't get me wrong he's a good doctor but not for me, he was always in such a rush and I never felt comfortable with him. Not once after having an adjustment did I ever feel full and whilst having the fluid injected it took forever. I have quite bad scar tissue problems which added to the difficulty of injecting the fluid and I still have bad pains where the scars are. I've been looking into sleeves but am worried about another major operation, basically I just don't know what to do! I look like I'm 9 months pregnant and feel terrible and wanted to find others that may have been in this kind of situation and to get some comments on other bariatric specialists. Thanks for listening. | |
