| Hi Yumnah, the people that u meet at these forums..and everyone else I'm planning on coming back to work on Monday, if all goes good. Anything interesting happened???or any gossip to report Saw Chris my surgeon, and on his scales it's official, I'm down to 97.8, or lost 5.1. He was pretty impressed. Saw the dietician as well she just went over the purée stage. gonna start walking again, by walking him to school. Luv Jo | |

| Hi everyone Post day 5 now. things are going really well. Went for a walk around my local park yest, it's just across the road from where we live in Perth. Going for first appt with surgeon and dietician post op. I will let you all know how I get on with my weight loss. no probs food wise, yest my dh and ds had a hamburger for dinner and it was the first time I felt "hungry". I worked out that this was head hunger, that everyone talks about. I had a yoghurt and was completely satisfied. See the dietician after my surgeon as well..hopefully I can go not Mushies, I feel like could do with something like mashed potatoe. Pain wise, only hurst when getting up from sitting or lying down. No nausea, compared to my poor husband, who still suffers from being sick on nearly everything he eats with his band. Will keep u all posted. Luv Jo Xx | |

| Hi Itsalinko - I'm 9 days out and am down 6 kilos - not as drastic as you, but I'm thrilled. I sympathise about the cannula - mine was positioned like that, and kept going off every time I moved my arm. As a result, I tried to keep it still, and with all the liquid going into me, my hand ended up looking like a puff ball. My skin hasn't been that smooth for years.
I've been very lucky and had virtually no pain, except for a couple of nasty headaches. I found it much more painful when I had the band out 3 months ago.
Keep up the good work and look after yourself.

| Have you had to do a Barium swollow ? - itsalinko wrote:
- Day 1 was horrendous, not pain wise, just toilet breaks and where my cannula was positioned, in my elbow. If I moved the wrong way it set off an alarm.
Having my first cup of peppermint tea now and I have to say its bloody lovely.
The nurses r gonna ring my surgeon chris couch to see if I can go home. Chris is brilliant and looked after me and my husband, who he banded. Now the competition will be on to see who can loose the most weight. Didn't loose a bloody thing on optifast, so these are my stats
Starting weight 102kg.
First goal to get down to 95/90 by Easter. Luv Jo

| Hi Jo, how soon before you could get out of bed, how bad was the pain on the first day ????? - itsalinko wrote:
- I feel great, great sleep last night with all the fluids and drain came out yest. Hoping to get home to my own bed. Can't wait to get on the scales, how soon did everyone weigh themselves.
Just had 2 nurofen tablets, went down. And having some jelly. Might take a while getting used to being differant from having my band.
Only bad news, I'm pre diabetic. But hopefully that will go when I loose a bit of weight.
Looking forward to starting my new journey today.
Love Jo Xx
