| Went out to dinner with hubby last night, my sister had given us a restaurant voucher and it was nice to really enjoy the meal. I still don't clean my plate, so very happy about that.
This morning, hubby gets on scale and weighs himself - not too bad, put on .4. I get on scale and weigh myself – argh! put on a kilo. Hubby is confused "How can that happen?" Because I'm ME! and I am a fatty.

| My band is coming out next month. Dr took all of the fluid out of my band a couple of days ago. It was the big test last night, a normal Lite n Easy meal. I try to be "good" and eat the veggies and invariably find myself throwing up really violently.
Last night I managed most of a meat patty and almost all of the veggies. The best part though was that there was no pain afterwards. There was none of that delayed reaction and feeling that I had just swallowed a thousand razor blades and I didn't throw up.
The cat thought he'd scored when he got to eat all of the second meat patty and my leftovers (except the beans because my cats don't like beans.) | |

| Freddo and Kazz...Thanks so much for your replies. That is much better than I thought. I shall just keep on plugging along. The worst( apart from having to wait for the second surgery) is that I will not be able to swim for at least 3 weeeks after the surgeries. I swim every day-it is going to be hard to not be able to! | |

| Teeli & Kaz - I didn't find any difference in hunger levels after the band came out (a few weeks ago) - but I had had little or no restriction for years. I also recovered really quickly - just a couple of days of feeling a little sore, then back to everything except the gym (had to wait a couple of weeks for that). I love that I can burp again! I also love that I can now drink a whole glass of water in one go when I'm thirsty. One problem, however (which I've just posted about) is that I've developed a bit of reflux, which I'm hoping will go away by itself. My surgeon says that he wants to do further testing to see what the amount of acid in the oesophagus is before he sleeves me, because he tells me that reflux after the sleeve can make your life very unpleasant. | |

| hi Teeli
I had my band removed last Monday and I don't feel any different yet ( hunger wise). Only not getting stuff stuck or vomiting or the fear of that. My removal went well a bit of bruising and wind pain but other than that I was up and about the same day. Funny I have not tried bread or steak yet still the mind set of getting stuff stuck.
I am booked for the sleeve 14th Jan so I really don't want to put on weight either, being on this forum has helped give me a bit of encouragement to start to eat healthy when I can. Trying to eat high protein and low fat also started to walk again. I know as I get closer to Xmas this will be harder but I will be happy if I can stay around the same weight until the surgery.
Good luck with the removal and keep me posted.

| I have just completed one week of the Optifast. On 22cnd I have the Band removed. So it's Optifast till then...not that I mind, I quite enjoy it, actually. Can anyone tell me how it is going to be after the surgery? Will I suddeny be ravenously hungry? I think I have to wait until Feb before the Sleeve is done, and I am dreading putting on weight over those "free" months... | |
