| Hi Daisy,
I also had my sleeve 4 weeks ago by Kevin Dolan. He is fantastic and I would have no hesitations in recommending him. My original referal was for a different surgeon but then I rang the doctors office and told them i had done my research and changed my surgeon so could they write me a new one. I just collected it with no further appointment.
Best of luck on your journey xx | |

| Thanks all for responding, I went to GP today and she gave me 2 referrals, one for Jon Armstrong, and the other for Mercy Baratric, she was really great, but I felt uneasy with the referral for Dr Jon, I did mention Kevin Dolan, but she didn't say anything. Where do I go frm here?...Oh gosh will I get accepted... | |

| The doctor I saw didn't want to give me a referral but I told her I would see someone who would and she ended up giving me one. It's your decision, unless you have a condition where the sleeve would be dangerous for your health and I can't imagine a scenario where that is the case. Does the surgeon you want to see have a criteria list? If they accept people with a BMI of 34, your referral shouldn't be a problem. | |

| More questions, advice please, I have HBF to cover a gastric sleeve operation if I get a referral, plus my own money to cover any shortfalls. Is there any surgeons that seem to be willing to do this operation, with a lower BMI, and no known health conditions. I am so nervous, wish me luck with the GP tomorrow. I was hoping to get a couple of referrals, so your help in putting the surgeons names forward that may be help me. Thanks | |

| Welcome Daisy, you just need to be assertive and say that u would like a referral to see a specialist to discuss having a gastric sleeve. He has no right to say no unless he thinks that this surgery is going to make your situation worse and it wont, in fact it will improve your health and most of your other problems related to being overweight. Good luck! | |

| Well I have finally made an appointment to see a GP to see if I can get a referral for the sleeve. I go on Wednesday, so am terrified that I will not get a referral, BMI 34, with no other health problems, apart from bad back, sore knees and ankles, I have only been to Dr once in the last 8 years, so I have just picked one far away from my town am in the wheatbelt, I am 5 ft 4. I am constantly on this site, should get a prize for top lurker, but this forum is amazing, and everyday I feel uplifted reading yr stories. Is there anything I need to say to this dr to get the thing I would love most.? Your thoughts and support PLEASE | |
