Craving cheese Empty
PostSubject: Re: Craving cheese   Craving cheese EmptyThu 02 Aug 2012, 12:44 am

I'm day 6 out and have had the cheese cravings too. I just put a tiny piece of crackerbarrel cheese on my tongue and let it melt. The taste was very sharp and a nice change from the boring broth or the super sweet custard. I did the same with feta and laughing cow. My dinner turned into a mini cheese platter. It went down perfectly. My nausea actually stopped while eating it. Just tiny crumbs in the mouth and allow them to melt. Looking forward to that cauliflower soup thing today though...yum!

You could always do the chew and spit if your cravings are really unbearable - but otherwise not recommended!!

You could make a runny cheese sauce which would go up a straw - I use cheese spread as well as grated parmesan in my cheese sauce - word of warning you don't need to add salt to the sauce as the cheese spread makes salty anyway.

LOL I was told I could eat anything in the first 4 weeks I could suck up a straw! That's how the purée stage was defined. Mind you every surgeon/dietician is different.

I was lucky had no cravings until I was 15 months post sleeve.

Janette

That is really funny cause when i was 4 days post sleeve i too craved cheese. I didn't eat any.. I tried melted cheese today mixed with runny puree - very hard to get down.. Don't do it..

2 days ago i was craving sweet chilli sauce - i don't even like it..

The cravings will pass - don't give in to them just yet. Keep up with liquids.

Take Care

I put a tiny bit of grated cheese in my soups towards the end of the liquid stage and then heated it up in the microwave it added a different texture.

There's no way I could have eaten purees straight out of hospital I've been on them since Tuesday and am still struggling, tonight I'm still waiting for the pureed tuna mornay to go down, and I ate it 2 hours ago.

I'm allowed anything puréed. As long as it is musy it's fine. I'm steering away from meat though. maybe a lick of cream cheese??
